GoodPriv@cy®:2018 is a registered quality guarantee mark pursuant to article 21 of the Swiss law of 28 August 1992 on the protection of trademarks and indications of source (MSchG). It is awarded for exemplary data protection practices and the associated high standards of information security. The primary aim of GoodPriv@cy®:2018 is to boost public confidence in the holders of the seal of quality, verifying their compliance with data protection laws (and therefore with laws on the protection of a person's personal rights).
The new version GoodPriv@cy®:2018 updates the existing label. The modification’s objective was to ensure compatibility with the new versions of the ISO-norms (High Level Structure) and with the requirements of the EU data protection basic regulations. For the transition to the new GoodPriv@cy®:2018, existing customers have a time frame of max. 3 years (end of 2021).

Outcome

An efficient data protection management system is an adequate basis for meeting the required standards in relation to the safe administration of personal data and effective conformity with data privacy law and basic legislation, including appropriate levels of information security. The certificate helps to promote a good image and inspires trust in business partners, consumers, local authorities and public bodies.

Target groups

The GoodPriv@cy®:2018 seal of data protection quality can be obtained by all organisations (companies, institutions and public authorities) which process personal data as defined by data protection legislation.

Validity

3 years - there is an annual audit to check that standards are being maintained and a recertification audit every 3 years.

Recognition

The SQS GoodPriv@cy®:2018 certificate is internationally recognised.

Combinations

GoodPriv@cy®:2018 can be combined with ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO/IEC 27001 (information security management) and VDSZ (data protection management).
