Why is a management system necessary? 

A management system is a set of interrelated or interdependent elements of an organisation that defines policies, objectives and processes to achieve these objectives. It may cover one or more disciplines, such as quality management, financial management or environmental management. It contains all relevant elements of an organisation such as its structure, roles and responsibilities, planning, operations, policies, practices, rules, beliefs, objectives and processes to achieve these objectives.
