Accreditation of a certification
What is the difference between accreditation and certification?
The certification of an organisation, for example, according to an ISO standard, may be accredited or non-accredited. This means that the body issuing the certificate is accredited or not. As accreditation is an additional step in quality assurance, accredited certificates are mandatory in some contexts. Accreditation also increases the guarantee of international recognition and easier access to the global market for certified organisations. This strengthens the relationship of trust between business partners.
